XWA Airport County Road 7

XWA Airport County Road 7

The first FAA-approved greenfield airport construction in some two decades, the new Williston Basin International Airport required a demanding time fame and complex collaboration with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. Alliance Consulting provided design and construction management for County Road 7, the primary access. It experienced heavy traffic throughout the process and the proposal required the firm to maintain two lanes of traffic during day-time working hours while it also provided reconstruction of the roadway embankment, widened the existing road, re-routed the roadway through farmland and installed aggregate base with geogrid and geofabric on some 2.6 miles of road. The firm provided value engineering through more efficient roadway section and substituting better base material saving for substantial cost savings for the City of Williston. To eliminate a dangerous turn radius and avoid well-pad accesses, Alliance designed a new one-mile alignment coordinating with Oasis, local property owners, the City of Williston and Williams County.

Alliance Consulting performed as project engineer, designer, coordinator, construction management, contractor administration and survey services on the project.
